I’m a user experience designer with a background in architecture. After 5 years of working as an architect I decided it was time to try something different where I could easily transition my skills.
When I first came across UX design, I quickly realized I have been designing user experiences all along. As an architect, I was manipulating space and materials to create these experiences. Both roles focus on solving problems for people and encouraging people to interact with spaces whether they are physical or digital.
Coming from this background, I’m able to think in terms of systems and details simultaneously and develop a vision that encompasses all aspects of a problem. Not only do I empathize with the user and their needs but I also take into account all the changing variables such as environment, technology, and business goals. As the voice of the user, we play a vital role in creating innovative ways to deliver inspiring design, utilizing holistic and integrative methods.
